We feel that it’s important to illustrate how YELP “hides” many valid, good reviews…they have a “Filter” that is supposed to weed out reviews that aren’t legitimate…but we’ve found that they, somewhat like the Better Business Bureau, make it hard for a business to keep positive reviews without “ads” or other on their site…according to YELP’s website ;
“Do legitimate review content sometimes get lost as a result? Yes. Our filter takes a conservative approach and errs on the side of protecting the consumer, when necessary…it’s an algorithm our engineers are constantly working on. Its purpose, however, remains the same: to protect consumers and business owners from fake, shill or malicious reviews.”
Please take the time to read the many positive, legitimate reviews that are available on YELP’S website only if you click the “filtered reviews”. We remain unwilling to pay monies for ads on yelp, just to get our reviews to show up unfiltered.
